About
My name is Jéa
What's up, I’m a Neo-Soul/R&B artist originally from Toronto, now based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. My music is inspired by artists like Erykah Badu, Snoh Aalegra, and Jorja Smith—soulful, honest, and rooted in emotion. I started releasing music in late 2023 and since then, I’ve dropped a few singles, performed all over Halifax, and shared the stage at local festivals and events. It’s been a steady journey of growth, and I’m really proud of how far I’ve come.

Music has always been my way of processing life. I use it to tell stories, unpack emotion, and connect with people who might be feeling the same things I’ve felt. I’m not here to be perfect—I’m here to be real. I want the people who listen to my songs to feel less alone, uplifted at times, and maybe even find a little healing in the process, just like I do every time I write.

Over the past year, I’ve been taking steps to deepen my skills. I’ve worked with vocal coaches, trained under holistic music mentors, performed at over 15 open mics and shows, and started building a foundation in music business and branding. I’m currently preparing to start the Music Arts program at NSCC in the fall to keep growing as a vocalist and songwriter.

Right now, I’m working on my first EP, set to drop in October 2025, with another one planned for the spring. Everything I’m creating is coming from a soul-derived place—and I’m so excited to share it all with you.
